TransformationalLeadership: A Useful Tool for Teachers in Identifying and Influencingthe Performance of Students
Transformationalleadership can be defines as a progression where leaders andfollowers bound together to progress to superior interaction levels.Transformational leadership practice are effective in creatingpreferred positive results in school reform efforts, notably improvestudents’ performance in various aspects. Transformationalleadership creates a high level of the commitment and motivation onthe students with respect to the organizational trust and commitmentamong teachers and students that facilitates organizational learning.Transformational leadership affects the teacher’s professionalcommitment, stipulated as commitment to the organizational values.However, it is very relevant in the learning process in schools.Transformational leadership practice are effective in creatingpreferred positive results in school reform efforts, notably improvestudents’ performance in various aspects. The main aim of thispaper is to establish the importance of transformational leadershipin social development and student performance in schools. It isimportant to note that majority of studies on transformationalleadership focus on the organizational or business perspective. Thestudy uses a qualitative study to obtain date from various learninginstitutions. Nine structured open headed questions will be used asinterview questions during data collection. The subject response willbe audio recorded and analyzed to determine the role oftransformational leadership for teachers in identifying andinfluencing the performance of students. The data will be analyzed todetermine the quality and anomalies in each response to determine itsrelevance to the research question. Data will be examined by use ofcentral tendency, that is, mean, mode and median. The metadata willthen be used to identify problems such as misspelling, illegalvalues, duplicates, and varying value representation. This study willprovide an insight on leaders can enact change in learninginstitutions and develop essential leadership characteristics.
