WhyI was Chosen to Preach

Iwas chosen to preach because it emulates Jesus. Before crucifixion,Jesus spent his life preaching and teaching the word of God. I preachbecause it is a commission. According to 2 Timothy 4: 2, Paul wroteto Timothy telling him to preach in and out of season. Another reasonis to witness and testify. As a Christian, preaching provides anavenue in which I can share with others what God has done in my life.Preaching helps me inform the world about God’s salvation plan andinvite them into this plan. The gospel that I preach is guided by theBible that explains how God saves and how one can get into salvation. This is supported by 2 Corinthians 5: 19 that says that Christianshave been tasked with the ministry of reconciling men to God.

Preachinghelps strengthen other people with whom we profess the same faith. Inpreaching, I share experiences and encounters that make fellowbelievers know that there is somebody else who shares in the thingsthey go through. I am chosen to preach as a representative of Christ.2 Corinthians 5: 20 calls Christians “ambassadors of Christ”. Asa representative of Christ, I preach to speak good things about Godand heaven because ambassadors speak well of their homelands.Preaching demonstrates God’s love. This is seen in 2 Corinthians5: 14 which says that it is the love of Christ that constrainsChristians. In preaching, hidden truths are revealed. Since God isthe subject of my preaching, he reveals things that seem likemysterious so that both believers and non-believers can understandthe things of God. This is important because God remains a mystery tothe human mind.
